Test-Run of Weekday Hours After School Starts!

You asked and we listened! There is sadness for some members when our lifeguard staff returns to school (high school and college) and we have no weekday hours due to limited or no lifeguards. However, our pool classification allows us to operate without lifeguards as a “swim at your own risk” facility. Therefore, we are going to have a test run of limited weekday hours staffed by check-in and concession attendants only. If this test run is successful (safe and used by members), we will continue for the rest of August.

Here are the details:

  • The test-run dates will be Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 14 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. District 5 starts back to school on August 7. (High school swim teams will be using the facility for practices on the weekday afternoons and evenings).
  • Sign-in and concessions attendants will be on site.
  • The diving well will be CLOSED.
  • All members and guests will be required to sign a liability waiver upon entry.
  • If attendance is adequate, and no safety issues present, we will continue this schedule through August!

Please note that we will be open on a Friday evening through Sunday weekend schedule until we close after Labor Day Monday.

Wimbledon Watch Weekend at Murraywood

We have a big weekend coming up and wanted to share the event schedule for the next three days. In addition to the main activities (WATCH, EAT, and PLAY) we are also facilitating DONATE. As we often do, we have included an option for members to help out others in need. For our Wimbledon Weekend, we have chosen to support recovery efforts in central Texas in the aftermath of the horrific flooding. Flood recovery is something we have experienced here at Murraywood (click here if you would like to see pictures of Murraywood and the 2015 flood), and our heart aches for those facing this arduous challenge now. We have chosen to donate to the Salvation Army Texas Flood Relief Fund; Walmart and Sam’s Club are matching contributions up to $250,000 through July 20, 2025 so any monies donated now will have double the impact.

To donate directly to the fund, click here: Salvation Army Texas Flood Relief Fund.

You may also donate to Murraywood, either with a cash or check donation given to Martha Hanks this weekend, or via a credit card on our website: Murraywood Texas Flood Relief Donation Site.
