Columbia Cup 2024

WANT TO WIN 2 TENNIS GUEST PASSES? Sign up now to represent Murraywood at the Columbia Cup  – a fun local Midlands area interclub doubles tennis competition being held at the Lexington County Tennis Center in Lexington on December 5-8, 2024 (Thursday 5:00 pm- midday Sunday). 

The event has been run for several years now with the previous year’s winning club putting on the event the next year.* We’re excited that some of our club members want to participate this year and want you to join in on the fun!

Participating Clubs: Cobblestone, Country Club of Lexington, Forest Lake, Murraywood Swim and Racquet Club,,Rockbridge, Spring Valley,The Creek At Mungo Park*, The Wildewood Club, The Woodlands, Windermere Racquet Club, Woodcreek.

Murraywood can be represented by 2 teams  per doubles division:

  • 18+ and 55+ Mens and Womens 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 (5 NTRP divisions in each of two age groups per gender)
  • 18+ and 55+ Mixed 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 (5 NTRP combos per age group)

Partners can be no more than 1.0 rating difference.

Murraywood needs your doubles team to earn points towards winning the Cup!

  • Main draw match wins before the final will count for 2 points
  • Consolation draw wins will count for 1 point 
  • Championship wins in a bracket will count for 3 points (no bonus point for round robin winner).  
  • Round robin wins in an event with only two represented clubs will count one point instead of two.

Tournament Hospitality (included in your $65 registration):

  • Food and Beer will be provided during the tournament. 
  • There will be a players party on Saturday night.  
  • Water will be available on court.
  • Guests can donate for Meal & Beer tickets

  • Players must be dues paying members at Murraywood since July 1 of this year 2024. 
  • Players must be able to register for an adult 18 + or 55 + event in Serve Tennis.
  • Players must have a verifiable USTA NTRP rating and account.
